Synthetic ingredients tend to have a consistency in smell and last longer. Does the smell differ after applying it? Often times, fragrances are designed with top, middle and base notes, designed to smell different based on the time elapsed after application. For example, some citrus top notes give off a stronger scent immediately after use, while the middle notes of lavender can be felt after a long period of use as the top notes evaporate.
